A captain of a fishing boat is lucky to be alive after a huge explosion sent him flying from his boat and into the water.

CCTV footage shows gas cylinders being unloaded at the dock as the fishermen finished their work for the day.

But as the captain went back down to collect another, one accidentally went off, causing a huge eruption and forcing him up into the air.

The blast, which could have killed the captain outright, also started a huge fire which ripped through the boat as its crew looked on in horror.
