Lauderhill fish market shooting suspect is in custody – Sun Sentinel – Sun Sentinel
The man suspected in a fatal shooting outside a Lauderhill fish market was arrested in Palm Beach County, police announced Thursday.
Trace Obrian Walker, 26, is accused of gunning down Gary Wallock outside the Lobster and Seafood Warehouse, 1854 NW 38th Ave.
The Jan. 16 execution-style murder was captured on surveillance video, which police released a few days later.
The video shows someone run up to Wallock from behind and begin firing shots at close range.
Wallock turned to get away, then collapsed next to his car in the parking lot of the fish market. The gunman stood over Wallock and continued shooting, the video shows.
“You can say he was executed,” Lt. Gregory Solowsky said at the time. “This was not a random act of violence, it was not a crime of opportunity.”
Wallock’s girlfriend panicked and ran through the parking lot, calling for help. The gunman later fired shots in her direction before running away. She was not injured.
The motive for the shooting is not known at this time, Maj. Rick Rocco said in a news release.
Walker was charged with premeditated murder, jail records show. He was booked into Broward County Main Jail on Wednesday.
